Thunder in two acts

I set up mics on my balcony and hit record. Simple as that this time.

In first clip I just mixed together thunder from different distances - last one being the closest, approx. 400 m.

Morning sea

Last weekend I got my new matced pair - RØDE NT1-A: advertised as ultra low self noise, world's quietest studio condencers and so on...

It rained all night while we were looking for a place to record and test them with both Fostex FR-2LE and Sound Devices 702. 

Being half asleep I left Fostex high pass filter on and 702 was running without filters so no comparative files this time(we didn't move the stand in between though, so..)

Everything was good for recording except high humidity. Studio condencers don't like that and with  help of a light breeze one mic just went silent(after few hours and some headache, it  worked ok again).

For wind protection we used only WS2 foam windshields - not enought, like they say and now I've found that out myself ... 

But I already like those bulky  large diaphragm mics.
